Runaway home after MySpace beau dumps her

BAYTOWN, Texas, April 22 (UPI) -- Baytown, Texas, police are tracking down a teenager they say dumped his MySpace girlfriend after finding out she was really 12 years old.

The girl was back home in New Mexico Tuesday after running off to El Paso where she met up with her 16-year-old cyberbeau, who was apparently under the impression she was 15.

But, the Houston Chronicle said Tuesday, the teenager found out from the girl's aunt that she was all of 12 and later ditched her at a shopping mall.

The girl was later put on a plane by Baytown authorities and sent home to Deming, N.M., and her family, who had reported her missing April 14.

Investigators were attempting to identify the boyfriend and get his side of the story, the Chronicle said.
