PALM BEACH, Fla., April 21 (UPI) -- A couple wanted on drug charges appeared before a Florida judge Monday after spending years fighting extradition from the Bahamas.

The Justice Department said Monday that Dwight and Keva Major had been quietly returned to the United States last week to face charges involving alleged marijuana and cocaine smuggling between Colombia and the Bahamas.

The Palm Beach Post said the couple left behind four children between the ages of 7 and 18 years. The children were placed in the care of their grandparents.
