COLORADO SPRINGS, April 18 (UPI) -- A Colorado woman charged with making a false report to police may be tied to the raid on the polygamist ranch where Texas authorities removed 416 children.

The Colorado Springs Police Department confirms that investigators with the Texas Rangers traveled to Colorado this week "as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas," CNN reported Friday.

The woman charged with making the false report is identified as Rozita Swinton, 33.

A police statement says documents related to the case have been sealed so details cannot be discussed.

The raid on the Yearning for Zion Ranch came after Texas authorities received a series of calls from a self-described 16-year-old girl who said she had been abused and forced into marriage with a much older man.

"It is our belief that these children who are under the age of 17 have engaged in sex with older men, which is a violation of Texas law, which is also a potential violation of the bigamy laws," Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told CNN.
