Plane crash in Russia kills 3, injures 1

PERM, Russia, April 16 (UPI) -- A helicopter crashed in Russia's Perm Territory, killing three people and injuring one, the owners of the helicopter said Wednesday.

"We confirm that three people, two crew members and a passenger, have been killed and another passenger has been wounded," a Gazpromavia spokesman said. The spokesman also said the passenger was hospitalized.

Four people were aboard the Mi-2 helicopter when its air traffic control contact system failed Wednesday, RIA Novosti reported.

The crashed plane reportedly was found about 10 miles outside of Kalino village, close to Perm.

The helicopter went down after hitting power lines, a Russian Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman said.
