WESTBURY, N.Y., April 16 (UPI) -- A New York children's party clown faces criminal charges for allegedly distributing hundreds of child pornography images on his computers, police said.
Alexander Zacarias, 40, faces nine felony counts of promoting sexual performance of a child, and nine felony counts of possession of sexual performance of a child, Newsday reported Wednesday.
Zacarias, who was arrested Tuesday, is accused of receiving and distributing hundreds of child pornography images on several personal computers.
Authorities said they removed "numerous desktop and notebook computers" from Zacarias' Westbury home.
