LIMA, April 10 (UPI) -- Five French tourists were killed when their plane crashed in the mountains of southern Peru, according to emergency officials.
The plane crashed while flying near the world-famous Nazca Lines, massive ancient etchings carved into the stone and sand that can be best seen from the air, El Comcercio reported Wednesday.
According to rescue officials and the plane's pilot, who survived the crash, the small Cessna aircraft went down after becoming tangled in power lines.
