DENVER, April 9 (UPI) -- A Denver woman who said she accidentally mixed methamphetamine into her son's baby formula has been charged with child abuse.
Katriece Trujillo is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond, The Denver Post reported.
Trujillo's 3-month-old son was treated for seizures and then released to the custody of child protective services.
Trujillo later recanted her statement, saying she made it only so she could see her son. Anthony Kammann, the boy's father, said she bought $40 worth of drugs and put it next to the baby bottle, where it fell in.
The mother has a history of traffic offenses and arrests for assault, the Post said, but has no record of drug arrests.
