HARRISBURG, Pa., April 9 (UPI) -- Nostalgic images of Sen. Hillary Clinton's childhood visits to her grandfather in Scranton, Pa., are captured in a new ad, her media team said.

The 30-second spot is one of five the campaign began running in the state Tuesday, The New York Times reported. Pennsylvania, which holds its Democratic primary April 22, is a critical state in the New York senator's bid to become the Democratic presidential nominee.

The other four television ads include one with Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell, one with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, one about the economy and one delivering a general message in Spanish.

The nostalgic ad plays up Clinton's family history to make a connection with Pennsylvania voters, media analysts told the Times. For older voters, some of Clinton's most enthusiastic supporters, the ad offers a trip back to the time when men wore hats and girls wore patent leather shoes. It also should appeal to working-class voters because of images of a shuttered mill and a modest cabin, analysts said.
