HARARE, Zimbabwe, April 3 (UPI) -- Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe was "relaxed" in his first public appearance since Saturday's elections, said former Sierra Leone President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.
Mugabe didn't discuss the presidential and general elections Thursday in his short television appearance, during which he was seen with Kabbah, The New Zimbabwean reported Thursday.
"He looked very relaxed. He is of the view that the problems facing the country will be resolved amicably. He hopes the rest of the results will be forthcoming," Kabbah said.
Kabbah managed the African Union's operation to observe Zimbabwe's Saturday elections.
"We discussed the fact that Zimbabwe is leading the world in terms of elections ... It's the business of the people of Zimbabwe to decide whom they want," Kabbah added.
Zimbabwe opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change, won the majority of parliamentary seats during the weekend elections, ousting Mugabe's Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front.
