The predominantly Hindu Himalayan kingdom has been rocked by violence in recent weeks as the country prepares for constituent assembly elections on April 10.
The leaders of the coalition directed their party cadres to abide by the agreement, warning action would be taken against those violating the terms, Nepalnews.com reported.
Signing the agreement were Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, who heads the Nepali Congress party, CPN-Maoist chairman Prachanda and CPN-UML's Madhav
Kumar Nepal.
The agreement came after the leaders received a reprimand from the election commission for their inter-party clashes, the report said.
One of the terms in the agreement says weapons cannot be displayed during campaigning.
The new constituent assembly, to be made up of 601 members, will prepare a new constitution and decide whether the country should do away with 239-year-old monarchy, now headed by King Gyanendra, who has already been stripped off most of his powers.
