Couriers charged in $1.9 million heist

OSLO, Norway, April 2 (UPI) -- Norwegian police have charged two couriers robbed of $1.9 million at gunpoint with being part of the heist, not its victims.

Investigators Wednesday searched for the money taken as the men made their nightly rounds, collecting money from safes in the suburbs of Oslo, Norway's Aftenposten reported.

The newspaper said police became suspicious after hearing different accounts of what happened when they questioned the couriers separately.

They learned one of the couriers had resigned from his job the very day the robbery took place, Aftenposten said.

Both couriers have denied having anything to do with the Tuesday robbery.
