ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 1 (UPI) -- A Harris Poll indicates Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., trails both of his potential Democratic rivals among registered voters.

The poll released Tuesday found 39 percent of those queried said they would vote for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., or Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., while 35 percent said they preferred McCain. Fifteen percent said they didn't like any of the three.

Among Republicans, McCain garnered about 70 percent support no matter who the Democratic nominee is, but among conservatives, only 57 to 60 percent said they would vote for him. Among Democrats both Clinton and Obama logged slightly less, 68 percent and 66 percent, respectively. Obama had a slight edge among independents, 33 percent, versus 28 percent for McCain and 29 percent for Clinton.

Some 2,549 U.S. adults were queried March 14-24. Harris said it does not calculate an overall margin of error, saying such calculations are misleading.
