Mom allegedly posted pix of taped-up kids

BELLINGHAM, Mass., April 1 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts woman who allegedly wrapped duct tape around her children and posted photos on MySpace.com has been charged with child abuse.

Amber Green and her fiance, Lee Smith, who lives with her in Bellingham, Mass., both face two counts of assault and battery, WCVB-TV reported. Police were notified by a woman who saw the photos and described them as "disturbing."

While Green said that the two children, ages 5 and 6, wanted to play with the tape and asked to be bound with it, police said that they were crying in the photographs.

"It is a possibility that the children may have had a difficult time breathing,'' Officer David Ayotte of the Bellingham Police Department wrote in a report.

The couple were released without bail pending a court appearance next Monday.

The WCVB report said that the tape was wrapped around the children's stomachs and chests and close to their necks.
