The Hill reported Monday that Klobuchar's comment clashed with other Obama supporters, including Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., who have said Clinton should end her campaign for the good of the party.
Klobuchar said the "spirited race" thus far between Clinton and Obama has generated unprecedented excitement within the Democratic Party.
"She has every right to continue her campaign," Klobuchar was quoted as saying. "I don't agree with those who have said things to the contrary. I think she should continue her campaign."
Klobuchar rejected arguments that the lingering Democratic race will help Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee.
She said it will be up to the party's nominee to help unify the party.
"I put a lot of that on the shoulders of these two candidates," she said.
