PHOENIX, March 31 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for U.S. president, begins a nationwide tour to help U.S. voters get to know him better.

His weeklong "Service to America Tour" features speeches on family, the military and professional milestones of McCain's life, The Arizona Republic reported.

"What you'll see over the course of the week is John McCain connecting his past to the present to the future, talking very directly from personal experiences and stories that have not been told before," McCain adviser Steve Schmidt told the Republic.

The tour includes stops in Mississippi, Virginia, Maryland and Florida.
