WASHINGTON, March 31 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton's Democratic U.S. presidential campaign is raising a lot of money and has good cash flow, her communications director said Monday.
Howard Wolfson commented on the New York senator's financial state in response to reports her campaign was experiencing a cash crunch as the primary season winds down, The Hill reported.
"Our cash flow is good. Bills are being paid. We are continuing to raise a considerable amount of money. We had the best fundraising month in the campaign's history last month," Wolfson told MSNBC. "We are continuing to do well this month. The support that we're receiving over the Internet especially is very, very strong."
Several media planning companies had said Clinton's campaign owes them money, The Politico reported. One company said Clinton's campaign stopped taking phone calls or responding to e-mail messages regarding the overdue payments.
Wolfson said Democratic front-runner Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois would raise more money than Clinton in March. He added that Clinton hasn't run an ad campaign yet in Indiana and North Carolina, choosing to focus on winning in Pennsylvania during the April 22 primary.
