KIBBUTZ NIR AM, Israel, March 28 (UPI) -- Three Qassam rockets were fired Friday into Israel from Gaza, shattering the windows of a Kibbutz Nir Am nursery, witnesses said.

No one was wounded when one of the rockets nearly struck the nursery as the children were taken to a bomb shelter, Ynetnews.com reported.

"We were very fortunate that none of the children was injured but they were very frightened. This is the reality they have to deal with," nurse Orna Schwartz told Ynetnews.

The two other rockets hit clearings but didn't result in any injuries, The Jerusalem Post reported Friday.

The Salah al-Din Brigades, the Popular Resistance Committee's armed services sector, said they launched the rockets, Ynetnews.com reported.

On the same day an armed Palestinian Hamas member was killed and one was injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers in Gaza, Palestinian sources said.
