Friday, November 20
LA JOYA , Texas, March 27 (UPI) -- A bed-ridden Texas woman who reportedly weighs 1,000 pounds has been charged with killing a 2-year-old nephew left in her care.
Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, 27, of La Joya, Texas, was arrested on a capital murder charge at her home.
But, Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino had to leave her free on a personal recognizance bond because deputies could not move or jail her.
The child's mother, 31-year-old Jamie Lee Rosales, was arraigned on a felony charge of injury to a child and jailed, with bond set at $50,000, for violating a state order not to leave her children in Mayra Rosales' care, the San Antonio Express-News said.
