The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported that Merry Morris, 53, could remain in jail until she pays the money.
Morris claims she cannot pay because her assets are locked in an irrevocable trust in the Cook Islands, and the trustee in the Polynesian island nation has refused to release the cash.
As part of their divorce agreement, Leland Morris was allowed to be primary custodian for the couple's children if he gave Merry Morris a $1.5 million bonus on top of the divorce settlement. However, if she later contested the post-nuptial agreement, she would have to repay the money, the report said.
Merry Morris is also being asked to pay her ex-husband's attorney fees.
Attorney Jeff Fisher, who represents Leland Morris, said he doubts Merry Morris is helpless, claiming that the trustee has given her money to buy cars and take exotic trips.
