Experts predict snowy Easter for Britain

BOURNEMOUTH , England, March 22 (UPI) -- Arctic gales are blowing snow and hail into Britain, making this the harshest Easter the region has experienced in 25 years, local media reported Saturday.

Snow hit Scotland Friday and was predicted to travel south throughout the week, making a snowy Easter probable for the country's majority, the Daily Mail reported.

"There are several cold fronts coming down from the Arctic, which will continue for the next few days. This will be a mixture of rain, hail, sleet and snow and most places will be at risk," Met Office forecaster Bob Syvret said.

Experts said temperatures late Sunday may be as low as about 31 degrees, with sleet and snow that will likely reach the Midlands and possibly London.
