Forces captured two alleged al-Qaida members, including a man suspected of planting improvised explosive devices, during an operation in Sharqat.

Three other suspects were detained in Mosul and, in the northwestern town of Bi'aj, forces arrested another three suspects with supposed links to al-Qaida in Iraq, officials said Friday in a statement.
