Joshua Cromer was fired in February 2007. He was one of six officers disciplined by the police department for comments posted on MySpace.com, in which they discussed their jobs, commented on arrests they had made and used derogatory language about gays and mentally disabled people.
Some of Cromer's postings related to his role in arresting country singer John Michael Montgomery, The Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader reported.
The Urban County Council unanimously affirmed Cromer's firing, citing misconduct, inefficiency, insubordination and conduct unbecoming a police officer.
Fayette Circuit Court Judge Thomas Clark's opinion said the court could not rule on the decision, ruling that council's opinion "is not to be disturbed unless it is arbitrary or unreasonable."
