Anti-terror HQ blueprints found in trash

OTTAWA, March 20 (UPI) -- Detailed blueprints for Canada's new military counter-terrorism center were found atop a garbage can in Ottawa, local media reported.

The blueprints for the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit at Canadian Forces Base in Trenton, Ontario, were reportedly found March 13 by Anthony Salloum and his wife as they walked to a restaurant for dinner, the Ottawa Citizen reported.

The plans showed electrical grid scheme for the center's computers and details about sewer systems and the storage bay for robots designed to detect chemical and biological agents, the newspaper said.

The plans were printed in March 2007 and bear National Defense markings but nothing to indicate they are secret, the Citizen said.

Col. Michael Day, head of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, told the Citizen an investigation and bid to retrieve the blueprints was under way.

He said there are no defense buildings in the vicinity of where the blueprints were found and said it's possible a civilian contractor discarded them, the report said.
