BAGHDAD, March 17 (UPI) -- U.S. and Iraqi forces detained more than two dozen terror suspects, U.S. military officials said Monday.

Al-Qaida suspects were arrested in northern Iraq, Baghdad and elsewhere, the officials said.

Some of the suspects were believed to roadside bomb specialists responsible for several recent attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah.

"We will continue to destroy and dismantle al-Qaida networks to ensure a more secure Iraq, free of the dangerous terrorists who threaten innocent lives," said spokesman Cmdr. Scott Rye.
