The poll conducted for the Inside Michigan Politics newsletter shows 47 percent of Michigan voters favor holding a do-over Democratic primary June 3, while 42 percent say they are opposed, The Detroit News reported.
Michigan was stripped of its 156 Democratic delegates after the state held its Jan. 15 primary earlier than national party rules allow.
If Democrats hold a repeat primary, the poll found that Democratic Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are in a statistical dead heat in the Great Lakes State, the newspaper said.
Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, leads Clinton, the junior senator from New York, 44 percent to 43 percent, the poll found.
The poll of 600 registered voters was held March 10-16 and has a margin of error of 5 percentage points.
