SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, March 18 (UPI) -- Investigators in Costa Rica say they discovered nearly a half-million dollars in cash believed to belong to a leftist Colombian rebel group.

Costa Rica officials said they received word of the $480,000 in cash at a home near San Jose from the Colombian military, El Nuevo Herald reported Monday.

Colombia said it found out about the money during an examination of a laptop computer belonging to a Colombian rebel leader killed this month by Colombian forces inside Ecuador, setting off a diplomatic row among several Latin American nations.
