
MILTON, Fla., March 17 (UPI) -- Flights at the Naval Air Station's Whiting Field in Florida were grounded Monday to honor two Marines killed in a training crash, military officials said.
The crewmembers killed in Friday's crash of a T-34 Turbo Mentor were identified as Maj. David Yaggy, 34, of Sparks, Md., and 2nd Lt. Alexander Prezioso, 23, of Lake Worth, Fla., The Dentin Log in Milton, Fla., reported. They were assigned to Training Squadron Six at the air station in Milton.
The single-engine trainer plane went down near Ashville, Ala. The cause of the crash was being investigated, the Log reported.
Yaggy was a combat-decorated helicopter pilot with 10 Air Medals. Prezioso, a 2006 graduate of Embry Riddle University, was a student pilot and a two-year Marine veteran.
