Clinton campaigns hard in Pennsylvania

SCRANTON, Pa., March 16 (UPI) -- U.S. presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton ended her first week of a major push in Pennsylvania by marching in Scranton's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Clinton is favored to win the Democratic primary in the state on April 4, but she needs a big win to boost her chances of wresting the presidential nomination from Barack Obama.

Saturday's trip to Scranton was her second in six days, the Chicago Tribune reported.

"This is so great. When we made the turn and saw the crowd stretching so deep, it took my breath away," Clinton said at the end of the route. "It couldn't be a more perfect day."

Clinton's father grew up in Scranton, making Pennsylvania one of the many states where the New York senator has roots. She grew up in Illinois, went to college in Massachusetts and law school in Connecticut and was First Lady of Arkansas.
