ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 11 (UPI) -- Few Americans regularly read political blogs that cover U.S. candidates and issues, a poll revealed.

A Harris Interactive poll found 56 percent of Americans say they never read political blogs. Fewer than a quarter of respondents said they read blogs several times a year, while 22 percent said they read blogs regularly.

The survey of 2,302 U.S. adults was conducted Jan. 15-22.

The poll found that among those respondents 18 to 31 years old, 19 percent said they regularly read a political blog and only 17 percent of those ages 32-43 say they do the same.

Older Americans are the most likely to read political blogs. Those age 63 and older, 26 percent say they regularly read blogs. Among those age 44-62 years old, 23 percent said they read Internet blogs.

On party lines, just 22 percent of Republicans and 20 percent of Democrats regularly read blogs, while 26 percent of independents said they do.

The survey's margin of error was not reported.
