CHAPEL HILL, N.C., March 12 (UPI) -- Two men -- one still at large -- were charged Wednesday with killing University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill student body president Eve Carson, police said.

Demario James Atwater, 21, of Durham, N.C., charged with first-degree murder, was arrested in Durham Wednesday morning and transferred to Chapel Hill, The Raleigh Chronicle reported.

Chapel Hill police said Lawrence Alvin Lovett, Jr., 17, remained at large. Police say Lovett should be considered "armed and dangerous."

The body of Carson, a senior at the university, was found near the campus a week ago. She had been shot several times.

Investigators released a photo from a security camera showing a man possibly attempting to use her automated teller machine card.

Chapel Hill Police Chief David Curran did not release many details during a news conference, saying "this is still an active ongoing investigation."

Commenting on a photo taken by an ATM security camera, Curran said police believed the person pictured as the driver of the vehicle was Lovett. Atwater was seen in a photo pulled from a convenience store security camera, the newspaper said.
