BAGHDAD, March 12 (UPI) -- For the second time in a week, a mass grave has been unearthed in Iraq, this time with at least 20 bodies found, police said.

The bodies, which included women and children, were found in Samarra north of Baghdad, KUNA reported Tuesday. It had not been determined when the victims had been killed.

The discovery came less than a week after the remains of 100 people were found in a mass grave in Dialy.

Meanwhile, violence continued to erupt across Iraq Tuesday. Police told the Kuwaiti news agency unknown gunmen opened fire in Kut south of Baghdad, killing or wounding about 30 people.

In Fallujah in Anbar province, a vehicle carrying explosives was detonated near a checkpoint, killing three members of the al-Sahwa group and injuring five others, police said.

And in al-Dolo'eya north of Baghdad, five more members of the al-Sahwa group were killed and eight were injured when a suicide bomber blew up a truck near a multinational force checkpoint.
