ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 11 (UPI) -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf may not have to reinstate judges deposed by his regime when the new government takes over.

That was the advice Musharraf was given by legal and constitutional aides he consulted after the two main parties, which plan to form a coalition, pledged the deposed judges would be reinstated within 30 days after the new government takes over, Dawn reported Friday.

The coalition is planned by Pakistan People's Party of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and a faction of the Pakistan Muslim League, led by Nawaz Sharif, another former prime minister. The two parties won the majority of the seats in elections last month.

Dawn, quoting sources, reported the aides told Musharraf his removal of the judges when he declared emergency rule in November has comprehensive constitutional cover that cannot be reversed by a resolution of the national assembly.

The report quoted Musharraf as telling the experts he had kept his promise of having free and fair elections and that he was ready to transfer power to the newly elected government.
