GENEVA, Switzerland, March 10 (UPI) -- United Nations mediator Matthew Nimetz will meet with diplomats from Greece and Skopje over the Macedonia name dispute, a Greek newspaper reported.

Kathimerini reported Monday that Nimetz will meet in Geneva this week with Greek representative Adamantios Vassilakos and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia representative Nikola Dimitrov.

The Greek government opposes Skopje's use of the name "Republic of Macedonia." Greece has argues the name suggests Skopje could make territorial claims over Greece's own northern province of Macedonia, BalkanInsight.com reported.

The Greek government reportedly is threatening to block Macedonia's entry into NATO over the dispute. For its part, Macedonia has been promoting its NATO bid with full-page ads in several international newspapers.
