LANGLEY, British Columbia, March 8 (UPI) -- Two teenage girls were in custody in Canada for allegedly having a homemade bomb and authorities were looking for more bombs, police say.
One of the 17-year-old girls, who lives in an apartment complex in Langley, British Columbia, allegedly told authorities she had bomb materials in her home, Canwest News Service reported Saturday.
Police said they were still searching for others involved in making bombs, as well as more explosive devices.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Cpl. Peter Thiessen said police received a tip from officials that chemicals used in homemade explosives had been dumped into a pond near the teens' complex.
Thiessen said police believe 11 more devices possibly could be found at the bottom of the pond.
Police said the case was "directly linked" to the discovery this week of two homemade bombs made of the same "volatile crystal material" used in the 2005 the London bombings.
A bomb also exploded in a Langley apartment Monday, injuring an 18-year-old man. Another teen was hurt at a bus stop in the city the same day after a bomb exploded in his hand.
Meanwhile, a 6-inch pipe bomb was found at a Metrotown mall in Burnaby, B.C., Thursday night.
