CHICAGO, March 7 (UPI) -- Illinois company Oberweis Dairy filed an injunction request to stop the Democratic committee from airing ads that claim the company employs illegal immigrants.

Oberweis Dairy President Joe Oberweis claims the ads are aimed at his father Jim Oberweis, who is the Republican congressional candidate competing to take the place of former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Dennis Hastert in the 14th Congressional District, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

Joe Oberweis reportedly believes the ads, run by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, are untrue and harmful to the company.

"Politics are politics but at the end of the day, I've got to stand up and defend our business," Joe Oberweis told the Tribune.

Joe Oberweis said the legal action filed Thursday is to stop the Democratic committee from airing the ads currently and in the fall, when Jim Oberweis and Democrat Bill Foster will compete in the general election in November, the newspaper said.
