FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- A Canada-bound plane carrying more than 250 passengers made an unplanned stop in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to deplane members of a family who had fallen ill.
Fort Lauderdale International Airport spokesman Greg Meyer said Air Transat Flight 477, which had taken off from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, continued on its route to Edmonton, Alberta, Wednesday morning after landing in Fort Lauderdale at 11 p.m. Tuesday, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported.
Meyer said the flight was diverted after a family of passengers became sick while the plane was in the air. The report had no other details.
