More than 160 trucks rumbled into Gaza at the Kerem Shalom and the Sufa crossings, marking the first shipment of supplies into Gaza since Israel imposed an embargo on the territory seven weeks ago, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The decision to allow the humanitarian aid into Gaza came after Palestinian Authority Health Minister Fathi Abu Mogli appealed to the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the newspaper reported. The pharmaceutical supplies were provided by an Israeli drug conglomerate.
