PARIS, March 3 (UPI) -- French officials are calling on the country's citizens to identify the hooded gunmen who injured four French police officers in a Paris suburb.
French Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie called the attack Sunday in a housing complex an "ambush," the Daily Mail reported Monday.
Three officers were treated at the scene for facial wounds while the fourth was hospitalized with leg injuries, officials said.
Alliot-Marie called for help to identify the shooters so they could be arrested, the British newspaper said.
Police said when officers arrived at the complex, officers faced "around 30 people whose faces were masked and several of whom were armed.
Calm was restored after police reinforcements were sent to the neighborhood, officials said.
