COPENHAGEN, Denmark, March 3 (UPI) -- Two leading academics warned that Denmark's Islamic Faith Society is closely patterned after the radical Muslim Brotherhood and has Islamic law as its goal.
Professors Kate Ostergaard of the University of Copenhagen and Tina Magaard of Aarhus University said that while the two organizations have their differences, both see the establishment of Islamic states in the west as their ultimate purpose.
The Egypt-based Muslim brotherhood is controversial in its support for violence in support of spreading militant Islam. The Copenhagen Post says Dutch intelligence has found what it says are ties to Islamic fundamentalists among many of Denmark's Muslim organizations.
"The Islamic Faith Society prefers to operate through co-operation with the Danish authorities to get gradual results," Magaard told the Post Monday.
