Roadside bombs kill 7 near Baquba

BAQUBA, Iraq, March 2 (UPI) -- Six Iraqi civilians were killed Sunday when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in the village of al-Khreir, U.S. a military spokesman said.

CNN reported two children and two women were among the dead.

Four civilians were wounded in the attack near Baquba, said Col. Ragheb al-Omairi, spokesman for military operations in Diyala province. A U.S. military spokesman said one of the four injured later died.

Another roadside bomb north of Baquba in Buhriz killed an Iraqi police officer on patrol, al-Omairi said. The officer was trying to defuse the bomb, U.S. military officials said.
