Obama struggling among Jewish voters

WASHINGTON, March 1 (UPI) -- Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama is having a difficult time connecting with Jewish voters, it was reported Saturday.

American Thinker, a conservative Internet publication, says the Illinois senator has allegedly sided with anti-Israel advocates in the past, leaving him struggling among Jewish voters in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, The New York Times reported.

Obama has denied such claims, alleging such reports were simply a political maneuver by his campaign opponent, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

"Those concerns have been continually stoked, whether through these e-mails that suggest that I'm a Muslim and attended madrassas and was sworn in with my hand on the Koran and scurrilous e-mails that were untrue," Obama said.

Meanwhile, The San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News said Obama is improving among white male voters. Field Poll Director Mark DiCamillo said the voting turnaround is in part due to Clinton's focus on female voters.

"She wants to make sure women are identifying with her campaign," DiCamillo said. "By doing that she turns off men."
