CHARLESTON, W.Va., Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Chelsea Clinton, daughter of presidential hopeful Sen. Hilary Clinton, spent her 28th birthday on the campaign trail.
The Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette reported that Chelsea Clinton had dinner in Charleston while traveling to meet her mother, who was campaigning in Pomeroy, Ohio, ahead of the Buckeye State's March 4 primary.
Chelsea Clinton's assistant called the Bridge Road Bistro to make reservations Wednesday.
"It was a big deal for us, for someone like that to say that people suggested she eat here," General Manager Amy Sue Gates told the newspaper.
Chelsea Clinton ate a vegetarian entree and celebrated her birthday with a sorbet dessert, Gates said.
Chelsea Clinton's dinner party included Bari Lurie, chief of staff for her mother's presidential campaign, and Philippe Reines, one of the senator's senior advisers, said Ed Rabel, a retired CBS and NBC newsman, who was eating at the restaurant.
