NORMAN, Okla., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Jurors in Oklahoma Thursday heard a tape of a man discussing an alleged plan to kill a 10-year-old neighbor to sexually assault her and eat her body.
Kevin Ray Underwood of Purcell could face the death penalty if he is convicted of killing Jamie Rose Bolin. He sat without showing any reaction as the tape was played, The Norman Transcript reported.
Underwood discussed his fantasies of cannibalism with two FBI agents two days after the girl vanished. He said he developed the fantasies after viewing pornography featuring cannibalism on the Internet.
"It started off as cannibalism … I wanted to know what it tasted like, just the thought of eating someone, and it was appealing to me," he said. "But then it kept kind of evolving from there 'cause I am, you know, sexually frustrated. I haven't had sex in four years."
Underwood wore a bullet-proof vest in court, and security has been stepped up because of a death threat. The trial was moved from Purcell to Norman because of publicity about the case.
