ARLINGTON, Ore., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Residents of Arlington, Ore., voted to recall the town's first female mayor after a racy photo of her turned up on the Internet.
Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist, was ousted as leader of the town of 481 after a 142-139 vote Monday, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Wednesday.
Recall supporters reportedly criticized Kontur-Gronquist's dealings with water and sewer complications, City Council meetings and the city's golf course.
Kontur-Gronquist, who is a former personal fitness trainer, said she planned on using the photo for a magazine fitness competition, the report said.
"I will be involved in the city and issues, of course. You betcha. That is what I wanted to do in the first place. I regret nothing," Kontur-Gronquist said.
Arlington Council President Jeff Bufton will take Kontur-Gronquist's place as mayor.
