LONDON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- England is faced with almost $20 million in damages after the country was hit by the strongest earthquake in 25 years.
The 5.2 Richter scale quake, the epicenter of which was near Market Rasen in East England, woke sleepers when it hit at 1 a.m. Wednesday, the Daily Mail reported.
It is reported that many businesses and homes across the country need massive repairs after being shaken
"We have been getting calls from all over the country. It appears to have affected all of England," a Met Office spokesman told the Daily Mail.
The British Geological Survey said it records approximately 200 earthquakes each year, one-eighth of which are strong enough to be felt by residents.
