LEHIGH ACRES, Fla., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- At least one person was killed and more than 20 others injured Tuesday morning when a truck collided with a bus carrying farm workers in South Florida.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. on a state highway in Lehigh Acres, Fla., near Fort Myers, WBHH-TV reported. State Route 82 was closed for about two hours because of the accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that heavy fog may have contributed to the collision. The driver of the truck was trying to pass other vehicles and wasn't using his headlights.

Police said that 23 people were taken to hospitals, including the person who died.
