MI6 agent: No files on Diana or Dodi

LONDON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- An MI6 manager testified Tuesday that the British intelligence agency had no files on Princess Diana or her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed.

The agent, identified only as Miss X and testifying at the inquest into Princess Diana's death without the press or members of the public present, said that MI6 had "no plan whatsoever" to assassinate the princess or Dodi Fayed, The Telegraph reported. His father, Mohammed al-Fayed, argues that the car crash that killed the couple in Paris in 1997 was engineered by MI6 on the orders of Prince Philip.

Miss X said that MI6 did have a card on Mohammed al-Fayed. She did not give any details. He was the subject of a Board of Trade investigation in the 1980s when he was buying Harrods, the London department store.

MI6 searched its records thoroughly at the request of the London police, Miss X said.

The agency does not use assassination as a tool, she said.

"We do not go around killing people -- it is simply not done," she said.
