Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor

MIAMI, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard in Miami said Monday a male diver bitten by a shark during the weekend has died
The man, 50, "passed away from his injuries sustained by a shark bite," Coast Guard spokeswoman Petty Officer Jennifer Johnson said.
Authorities have not identified the man or announced the injuries caused by the bite pending notification of the victim's family, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
The man was bitten while diving about 50 miles east of Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, said officials.
He was picked up by a rescue helicopter, and flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami where he died Monday.
