Democratic Party officials stressed the importance of March 4 primaries in Texas and Ohio and said those results would have a strong effect on how superdelegates vote at the Democratic National Convention in August, The Washington Times reported.
"I've told all of my friends that I hope they will wait because battleground states like Ohio will be absolutely critical to our success in November," former Democratic National Committee Chairman Steve Grossman, a Clinton supporter, said.
Democrats on either side of the contest have said the 385 undecided supergelegates seem unwilling to chose a candidate in the near future, the report said.
"Understand, none of us have to vote until August (at the party convention), so it really doesn't make any difference if we announce today or in August," South Carolina Democratic Party Chairwoman and superdelegate Carol Fowler told the Times.
