Among expenses listed in Clinton's latest campaign finance report are $100,000 for food before the Iowa caucuses -- which she lost -- and $30,000 for accommodations in Las Vegas, The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) reported Friday.
Now supporters wonder whether they were wise expenditures.
"We didn't raise all of this money to keep paying consultants who have pursued basically the wrong strategy for a year now," a New York donor told the Times. "So much about her campaign needs to change -- but it may be too late."
Clinton began the year with a cash advantage over rival Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., having about $19 million available for the primary season, compared with about $13 million for him. While spending by the two camps was roughly equal, Clinton's performance in fundraising forced her to lend her campaign $5 million, while Obama had $19 million for the coming contests.
Obama's fundraising surged after his Iowa victory. In January, he was given more than $2.50 for every $1 she received, the Times reported.
